We have received reports that vulnerable residents are being contacted by someone purporting to be from BT or TalkTalk, advising that they have a problem with their internet connection. Luckily due to poor broadband reception in the area, the window they wanted opening to pop a virus into refused to open! BT and other service providers do not call you regarding issues with your computers and ask you to provide them with debit/credit card details to fix problems! The advice remains the same - trust no one and if you have not asked for a call and it is not someone you recognise put the phone down!
