Dyno-Rod Fraud

One of our volunteers would like you to be aware of a fraud. He has been contacted on his home land line number and the caller stated they were form Nationwide. The caller stated they were updating their records and required details of post code and credit cards. The call was ended immediately. It came from a Northern Ireland number and was reported to Nationwide. From Trading Standards We have received reports of consumers being approached by fraudsters claiming to work for the drainage company Dyno-Rod. One consumer was asked to pay £7,800 upfront for equipment hire to support his drains. He later telephoned Dyno-Rod for an update only to be informed that he had been a victim of fraud. Dyno-Rod engineers: . Wear distinctive uniforms in orange/brown . Drive highly visible dayglow orange vans . Carry ID that can be verified on a national phone number .
