Car Crime Prevention

Message from the Neighbourhood Watch Coordinator for East Kent.

Despite many crime prevention messages regarding how to avoid having your car broken into and items of value being stolen and all the time, trouble and heartbreak this brings, people are still regularly leaving items of value on view in their vehicles and even leaving their vehicle insecure.

These crimes are prevalent in our area and are happening on a daily basis.

Crime prevention advice :

As well as locking and alarming vehicles, it is advisable to:

- Remove any valuable or sentimental items;

- Secure items in boots or take them out if the vehicle is left unattended.

- Park in a secure car park or well-lit location whenever possible;

- Wipe away SatNav suction marks, as sometimes these entice a thief to

break in.
